Meet our new Microsoft MVP

Published: March 4, 2024
In a nutshell:
Want to know what the Microsoft MVP (Most Valuable Professional) program is, and why our Modern Workplace Consultant Lewis Barry, has received this badge of honor? Keep reading...
The journey to becoming a Microsoft MVP is not an overnight one, and requires long term dedication and skill, within specialist skillsets.
Lewis Barry MVP outside Microsoft office

Last week ended on a high for a particular member of our team after finding out he was accepted into Microsoft’s Most Valuable Professional (MVP) program…

A big congratulations to our Microsoft 365 guru, Lewis Barry, who received MVP status for his incredible work within the Microsoft technology community.

Microsoft describe the MVP program as one that –

Recognises exceptional community leaders for their technical expertise, leadership, speaking experience, online influence, and commitment to solving real world problems.”

Becoming a Microsoft MVP is not easy. It requires dedication, determination, and a lot of activity. Lewis has had to fully engage with the Microsoft technology community, taking part in everything from podcasts and YouTube videos to sharing insights on his blog and social channels.

Crucially, becoming an MVP requires a nomination from a Microsoft Full Time Employee (FTE) or currently active Microsoft MVP. Once a recommendation has been submitted, a notification with a link and instructions for completing the MVP award nomination is sent to the candidate – it’s then over to them to demonstrate their capabilities.

Lewis says:

“I’ve worked with Microsoft technologies for nearly 10 years, both in an internal IT department setting and for Managed Service Providers. When consulting solo, it drove me to engage with communities, and I haven’t looked back since.

I primarily focus on helping people get the most from their Microsoft licencing entitlements, which for many, is the first step on the ladder to learning about the technology stack they are consolidating into. The second step is normally Entra, and the third is my personal favourite – Intune.”

The journey for an MVP is an ongoing one, once an MVP has their status confirmed by Microsoft, their status is only active for one year, with renewals considered each year onwards. MVPs must reapply every year to prove that they’ve continued to be active in the community – sharing knowledge and helping to promote their area of specialty.

At Stripe OLT, we’re extremely proud of Lewis, his latest achievement and all the work he does for our clients.

As our Modern Workplace Consultant, Lewis helps to scope projects, identify areas of improvement within our client’s M365 estates and support the Business Development team with his deep technical knowledge.

If you want to find out how our Microsoft experts can help you get the best out of your Microsoft 365 Modern Workplace technologies, get in touch with our team today.
