Last week, the 2023 Scale-Up Awards took place at Novotel London West, concluding months of nominations and judging for this year’s most successful entrepreneurs and scale-up organisations.
The event, hosted by comedian Andy Parsons, drew 450 prominent figures from the business world, including leaders, entrepreneurs, and VIPs from all corners of the UK. This year, the awards received over 500 entries, with notable attendees such as John Caudwell, Theo Paphitis, and Richard Harpin.
Presented by Business Leader, these awards recognise the success of entrepreneurs and high-growth companies, all with a mission to drive innovation. Naturally, we were extremely happy to be in attendance, but it turned out to be a very successful night, during which we also celebrated our Director, Tom Robbins, who was announced the winner of Business Leader of the Year 2023.
The Business Leader of the Year category was open to individuals who had “made an outstanding contribution to business and industry through years of dedication and hard work”.
Dedicating much of the last 4 years to Stripe OLT, Tom has implemented and supported change across the business; notable achievements include instilling a new EOS system, introducing a new cyber security department, as well as internally building out Sales and Marketing teams to further commercial success. With Tom’s guidance, the organisation has won industry-leading clients locally, nationally and internationally. The likes of Huboo, Hargreaves Lansdown, National Rail Delivery Group & MoneySuperMarket Group have all been brought on since Tom implemented key business changes, and the business portfolio continues to grow.
When asked to comment, Tom said:
“I’m absolutely over the moon to have won, all I can say is if you find the right team your dreams are possible. I’m lucky to have some outrageously talented people around me, who have made me the leader I am today. A very big thank you to The Scale Up Awards, it’s organisers and judges for this recognition.”
